Community

You are invited to visit the county’s site often and read about the news impacting our communities, whether it’s judging a livestock event, celebrating school graduations, showcasing local festivals and art exhibits, commemorating historic events, organizing for county-wide clean up campaigns, sharing helpful tips on hunting and fishing, and seeing the highlights of the various schools and local towns parades held throughout the year. “It’s all here” is the motto that best represents Quitman County and the spirit of its citizens.

The citizens of Quitman County are the heartbeat of its communities. It is so inspiring to hear news about the projects of the Marks Garden Club, the county schools’ academic and sport events, the Quitman County 4-H activities, agricultural events, the community health initiatives, the local Food Bank, and programs and activities impacting our veterans.

This is a caring community, and worship is one of the main fibers of Quitman County. There are many area churches that open their doors to the citizens and visitors throughout the week and on Sundays. The Quitman communities; as a whole, benefit from the Christ-centered and family-oriented ministries, programs and activities that are provided by various religious denominations that this county offers.

Keep browsing this site and you will discover “It’s indeed… all here”!
